Mount Rainier, a thousand houses built along a streetcar line
1910

A streetcar reached this corner of the District line in early 1897, after an earlier attempt to subdivide the land had already failed. Houses went up steadily from about 1900 to 1940, more than a thousand of them, small detached frame homes set close together on matching setbacks. Residents around the trolley stop petitioned the state legislature and the town incorporated in April 1910.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
