Huntington Park incorporated in 1906 as a streetcar suburb strung along the Los Angeles Railway, Henry Huntington's network of yellow cars running south out of downtown. Its Spanish Colonial Revival city hall went up in 1930 and is on the National Register. By the 2020 census 97 percent of its roughly 55,000 residents were Latino and about half had been born outside the United States, which makes it one of the clearest examples of how completely the southern corridor changed hands.
