McCollum Field gives Cobb County its own airport
1960

The county opened McCollum Field just south of Kennesaw on 4 September 1960 with one 4,000 foot runway, a stub taxiway and a single administration building. It is named for Herbert McCollum, the sole county commissioner who lobbied Washington for it. The runway is now 6,295 feet, the field operates around the clock, and the control tower opened in 1995.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
