Macroplaza Mall, the Pasadena mall rebuilt as a Mexican market
1982
Pasadena, Texas
Federated Department Stores opened this enclosed mall as Pasadena Town Square in March 1982, anchored by Joske's, Foley's and Palais Royal. The anchors left and the city around it turned majority Hispanic. In 2018 the owners renamed it for the Macroplaza in Monterrey and began a twenty million dollar rebuild meant to read as a Mexican mercado rather than an American shopping mall.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
