King Manor, where a Founding Father argued against slavery

Rufus King signed the Constitution, served as one of New York's first two United States senators and ran twice for president as a Federalist. He bought this Jamaica farmhouse in 1805 and worked from it, including his 1819 argument against admitting Missouri as a slave state. The house began around 1730 and was extended twice, so Federal, Georgian and Greek Revival details all sit on the same walls. It is now a museum inside an 11 acre public park and a National Historic Landmark.
