Kennesaw Mountain, the high ground over metro Atlanta
1966
Cobb County, Georgia
CC0 · Wikimedia Commons
At 1,808 feet the mountain is the highest point in the built up part of metro Atlanta, standing about 800 feet above the surrounding terrain. The name comes from a Cherokee word usually rendered as burial ground. Part of the slope is old growth forest, recognised by the Old-Growth Forest Network, which is unusual this close to a city of six million.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
