Green Hills Country Club and the Babe Ruth cancer tournament
1930
Millbrae, California
The course opened above Millbrae in 1930, built the year before as the Union League Golf and Country Club of San Francisco. For decades it hosted an annual professional baseball tournament for the Babe Ruth Cancer Fund that pulled in Ty Cobb, Bing Crosby, Lefty O'Doul and Leo Durocher. It has also been used as a qualifying course for the U.S. Open.
