Goodwin Stadium, where ASU played football before Sun Devil Stadium
1936
Tempe, Arizona
Arizona State Teachers College opened Goodwin Stadium in October 1936 and beat Caltech 26 to 0 in the first game played there. It held about 15,000 at its peak and served as the football home until the team moved to Sun Devil Stadium in 1958, after which Tempe High School used it for another eleven years. It carried the name of Garfield Goodwin, a former mayor of Tempe.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
