Glen Park, the Gary neighbourhood on the far side of the Little Calumet
1894
Gary, Indiana

Two Chicagoans platted Glen Park in 1894 where two railroads crossed, and Gary annexed it in 1926. It sits south of both the Little Calumet River and the Borman Expressway, cut off from the rest of the city by each of them, and is sometimes called University Park after the Indiana University campus there. It is the most populous neighbourhood in Gary, holding roughly a third of the city.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
