The plaza opened in 1957 where Route 4 crosses Route 17, the first suburban shopping mall built in New Jersey and the anchor of what became one of the densest retail corridors in the country. It has grown to roughly three hundred stores and more than two million square feet of leasable space, which ranked it sixteenth largest in the United States in 2022. Paramus built its tax base on this junction and the highways feeding it.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
