Fairview Park splits off from Rockport Township and takes a century to become a city
1910

Fairview incorporated as a village in September 1910 out of the divided hamlet of Goldwood, part of the old Rockport Township that also produced Lakewood, Rocky River and Cleveland's West Park. It added Park to its name in 1948 and became a city in 1951. Mayor David Bain got the WPA to build a log community centre here in 1937, watched it burn down four days before the dedication, and got the WPA to build it again.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
