Fairlane Town Center and the monorail to the hotel
1976
Dearborn, Michigan
Public domain · Wikimedia Commons
The mall opened in 1976 as a joint venture between developer A. Alfred Taubman and Ford's land company, with a Sears, a JCPenney, an ice rink and commissioned sculpture in the concourses. An elevated people mover, built by Ford as a prototype for an automated transit system, carried guests to the Hyatt Regency next door until 1988. Sears and the cinema have since gone dark.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
