The Edward J. DeBartolo Corporation, the firm that covered postwar America in enclosed malls, built Aurora Mall in 1974 and opened it in 1975 with Sears and JCPenney anchoring the ends. Over a million square feet of leasable floor turned a stretch of subdivision prairie into the commercial middle of what is now Colorado's third largest city. A remodel in 2005 renamed it Town Center at Aurora and pushed the cinema out of the building.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
