Fair Oaks and the flight path over it
2005
Cobb County, Georgia
CC0 · Wikimedia Commons
Fair Oaks grew up in the early twentieth century around the oaks it was named for, well before the airfield next door existed. Dobbins Air Reserve Base and later federal flight path rules put the community under the approach to a military runway. The Georgia House passed a resolution in support of the neighbourhood in 2005, which is about as much protection as an unincorporated place gets.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
