Maryland finished this arena in 1955 and it was the home court for Terrapins basketball for close to fifty years. On 19 March 1966 it held the NCAA final, where Don Haskins started five Black players for Texas Western and beat Adolph Rupp's all white Kentucky team 72 to 65 in front of 14,253 people. The game was not shown live on national television. The building was gutted and reopened in 2019 as a football training complex, renamed the Jones-Hill House.
