Churchill Valley held three women's majors in three years
1959
Blackridge, Pennsylvania
Churchill Valley Country Club, on the ridge above Wilkinsburg, hosted the LPGA Championship in 1957 and again in 1958, then the U.S. Women's Open in June 1959. Mickey Wright won two of the three, taking the 1958 LPGA at 23 and defending her Open title here a year later, two shots clear of Louise Suggs. Very few clubs anywhere held three national women's championships that quickly. The club closed in 2013 and the land is being turned into a public greenway.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
