Castaway Island Preserve puts a boardwalk over the Intracoastal marsh
2004
Jacksonville, Florida
The preserve holds 311 acres of salt marsh and maritime hammock on the west bank of the Intracoastal Waterway, on the mainland side of the beaches. Boardwalks carry the trail out over open water and the whole route is wheelchair accessible. The American Society of Landscape Architects gave its design an Award of Honor in 2004.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
