Burbank City Hall, a WPA Art Deco building finished in the middle of the war

Ground broke in February 1941 and the building was done in 1943, designed by William Allen and W. George Lutzi in a streamlined Moderne style. The Federal Works Agency and the Works Progress Administration paid part of the $409,000 cost, making it one of the last large New Deal buildings put up in the region. The murals, terrazzo and marble of the interior survive largely as built. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
