Amelia Island and eight flags
1811
Nassau County, Florida
Razvan Orendovici from United States · CC BY 2.0 · Wikimedia Commons
The only place in the United States to have flown eight different national flags, including two by freebooters who seized it briefly, a Scottish adventurer's Green Cross of Florida and a Mexican rebel's banner. It was a smuggling channel for slaves after the trade was outlawed in 1808.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
