Organized by the Kiwanis Club of St. Marys since the 1980s under the Rock Shrimp Festival name, this riverfront event features a parade, race and local seafood, with proceeds funding Camden County youth programs.

The Presbyterian minister Horace Southworth Pratt had this house built on Osborne Street around 1830, when the columned Greek Revival style was still new in America and almost nobody was building it out of wood.

Organized by the Kiwanis Club of St.
Admiral George Cockburn landed troops on Cumberland Island on 10 January 1815 to tie down American forces that might otherwise reach the Gulf, and a force of roughly 1,500 overwhelmed the few dozen men holding the battery at Point Peter.
Pinckney's Treaty in 1795 put the line between Spanish Florida and the United States down the middle of this river, from its source to the Atlantic.
The Army bought this stretch of Camden County marsh in the 1950s for an ammunition terminal it barely used.
