Edward Hopper was born in this Greek Revival house on North Broadway in 1882 and lived in it until he moved to Manhattan in 1910.
Built on South Broadway in 1932 in a Classical Revival style that federal architects rarely used for post offices between the wars.
Fifty buildings around a Hudson landing that grew into the whole of Upper Nyack after 1798, before the river towns filled in behind them.
The Hudson is at its widest here, about three miles across, which is why the original Tappan Zee Bridge of 1955 was built cheaply on foundations that were never meant to last.
