Naper Lights strings more than 250,000 animated holiday lights along Water Street, Foyo Plaza, and the Riverwalk in downtown Naperville each winter, synced to music. The free display is presented by the Naperville Sunrise Rotary Club in partnership with Water Street Downtown Naperville. It returns for its 8th year in 2026.

The college was founded at Plainfield in 1861 by the Evangelical Association and moved to Naperville in 1870 after the town put up money and land to win it.
The district covers the ground Joseph Naper's settlers laid out from 1831 plus the first additions to it, and it runs to 613 buildings, 544 of them counted as contributing.
On 25 April 1946 the Burlington's Advance Flyer made an unscheduled stop at Loomis Street so the crew could check its running gear.
