Woodbury University starts as a downtown business college and ends up in Burbank
1884
Burbank, California
F. C. Woodbury opened Woodbury's Business College in downtown Los Angeles in 1884, one of the oldest schools of its kind west of Chicago and the second oldest college in the city. It stayed in central Los Angeles for a century, then bought a 22 acre hillside campus on the Burbank line and moved there in 1987, by which point it was teaching architecture and design alongside business. The University of Redlands absorbed it in a merger completed in 2026.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
