The stop opened in 1990 as plain Imperial, where the new light rail line from Long Beach crossed the future path of the Century Freeway. A second line arrived in 1995 and turned it into the main transfer point on the network outside downtown, and in 2011 it was renamed for Rosa Parks. A rebuild costing about 128 million dollars was finished in 2021. Metro's rail operations centre, which dispatches every train operator on the system, sits just east of the platforms.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
