Whitefish Point and the Shipwreck Coast
1975
Whitefish Point, Paradise, Michigan

The eighty miles of Superior shore ending at Whitefish Point have wrecked more ships than any stretch of the Great Lakes, and the Edmund Fitzgerald went down just seventeen miles out, short of the shelter the point provides. The lighthouse, the oldest operating on Superior, now anchors the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum, which raised the Fitzgerald's bell in 1995 and rings it once for each of the twenty nine men every November 10.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
