The largest ship on the Great Lakes went down in a November gale with all 29 hands, seventeen miles from the shelter of Whitefish Bay. No distress call was sent. The wreck lies in two pieces at 530 feet, and the bell was recovered in 1995 and replaced with one engraved with the crew's names.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
