The stone house was built around 1773 and Washington made it his headquarters for the encampment that ran from December 1777 to June 1778. He worked and slept here while the army put up huts across the slopes around it, and the orders that rebuilt that army were written inside these walls. It was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1972 and is one of the centrepieces of Valley Forge National Historical Park.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
