Northwestern University, Evanston

University Hall is the oldest original building on Northwestern's campus and one of the oldest buildings still standing anywhere in Illinois. Only Old College came first, and that was torn down in the 1970s. The hall has been put to nearly every use the university has needed over the years and now holds the English department.
