UCSD and the Geisel Library

The university was put on a mesa at Roger Revelle's insistence, built around the sciences first rather than the usual liberal arts core. Its library is a concrete and glass shape often taken for a spaceship, named for Theodor Geisel, Dr. Seuss, who lived up the hill and left it his papers.
