Bedford was a going concern in the 1880s and 1890s, one to two thousand people around Weldon Bobo's store and gristmill, named for the Tennessee county many of the settlers came from. Then the Rock Island line and the Dallas to Fort Worth interurban were built past it on either side in the early 1900s. By 1940 eighty people were left. The airport, the freeway and the mid-cities boom carried it back to nearly fifty thousand.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
