Twenty Ninth Street replaces the mall Boulder had grown to dislike
2006

Crossroads Mall opened here in the 1960s as an enclosed suburban shopping centre and spent its last years losing its anchors. It was demolished and replaced in 2006 by Twenty Ninth Street, which turned the same site inside out into open streets, terraces and plazas. The switch from enclosed mall to open air retail was happening across the country at the time, and this was one of the larger examples.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
