Thornridge goes 33 and 0 and wins the 1972 state title by 35
1972
Dolton, Illinois
Thornridge opened in Dolton in 1960, and twelve years later it put out a team still argued to be the best in Illinois high school basketball history. The 1972 Falcons finished 33 and 0 behind Quinn Buckner, Boyd Batts and Mike Bonczyk, averaged about 87 points a game and never won by fewer than 14. They beat Quincy 104 to 69 in the final after leading by 31 at the half.
