1922
River Rouge, Michigan
Andrew Jameson · CC BY-SA 3.0 · Wikimedia Commons
This double leaf bascule bridge carries Jefferson Avenue over the Rouge at the line between Detroit and River Rouge. It was built in 1922, when the water under it was a working channel for lake freighters running up to the steel mills and the Ford complex. It was listed on the National Register in 2000.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
