The West End rowhouses of West Norristown
1984
West Norristown Historic District, Norristown, Pennsylvania
CC0 · Wikimedia Commons
The district covers about 220 acres and some 1,700 buildings in Norristown's West End, and almost all of it is housing. Rowhouses dominate, with an unusually large share of semi-detached pairs, and the bulk of it went up between 1885 and 1925 in whichever style happened to be current when the block was built. It was added to the National Register in November 1984, the same year as the central district on the other side of town.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
