The Weddington House, the mother house of North Hollywood
1891
North Hollywood, Los Angeles, California

Wilson Weddington, an Iowan and a Civil War veteran, bought 32 acres of the old Lankershim Ranch in 1889, and his family put up this house in 1891. It was the first in the southeastern corner of the San Fernando Valley. Weddington served as the township's first postmaster and ran the mail out of the family's earlier home. Over the following century the Weddingtons provided the land or the building for the first school, the first jail, the train depot, the library, the El Portal Theatre and the Bank of Lankershim. Los Angeles declared the house a Historic-Cultural Monument in 2007.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
