The Venus flytrap grows nowhere else
1760
Carolina Beach, North Carolina

The plant grows wild only within about seventy-five miles of Wilmington, in wet sandy savanna that burns often enough to keep taller plants down. A colonial governor sent specimens to London and Darwin called it one of the most wonderful plants in the world. Poaching for the houseplant trade became severe enough that North Carolina made taking one from the wild a felony in 2014.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
