Granite headlands, cypress that grow nowhere else in the wild, and water clear enough that the state later extended the reserve underwater, the first marine reserve in the country. Robert Louis Stevenson walked here while courting his wife in Monterey, and the coast of Treasure Island is generally taken to be this one.
