The steamer Alum Chine blew up loading dynamite and killed 33

On 7 March 1913 the tramp steamer Alum Chine was taking on dynamite for the Panama Canal works when fire reached the cargo. The blast killed 33 men and injured about 60, broke windows across Baltimore and was felt as far as Delaware. It remains one of the worst harbor disasters in the city's history.
