The Sandhills, dunes held down by grass
1904
North-central Nebraska
Public domain · Wikimedia Commons
Twenty thousand square miles of grass-stabilised sand dunes, the largest such formation in the Western Hemisphere and one of the largest intact grasslands left on earth. Plough it and it blows away, which is the only reason it survived.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
