Wilbur Fraser designed most of the round barns in Illinois on the theory that a circle was cheaper to build and easier to work than a rectangle, and around 1912 he talked his brother in law Frank Eaton into putting one up for about $1,500. It is 60 feet across, with nine horse stalls, an elliptical central silo reached from the loft, and a cupola on top. Eaton named it for his young grandson. Faced with demolition, it was taken apart in 1998 and rebuilt in 2007.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
