1660
Port Richmond, Staten Island
CC0 · Wikimedia Commons
The island's oldest congregation, gathered in 1660 and on this ground since 1680. The church built here in 1717 was destroyed by the British during the Revolution and a replacement went up in 1787. The brick Greek Revival building standing today, with its fluted Doric portico, dates from 1844 and is the oldest church on the north shore.
