The Providence Friends Meetinghouse, the meeting Media grew up beside
1753
Media, Pennsylvania
Public domain · Wikimedia Commons
Friends were meeting at Thomas Minshall's house here by 1696, moved into a log building in 1700 and a stone one in 1727, and put up the larger stone meetinghouse on North Providence Road in 1753. It is still an active place of worship rather than a preserved shell. Media itself was carved out around it and made the county seat in 1850, taking the courts away from Chester.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
