The Presidio pet cemetery

Under the elevated approach to the Golden Gate Bridge is a fenced half-acre of hand-painted wooden markers for the dogs, cats, birds and at least one lizard belonging to families posted to the army base. The National Park Service inherited it with the land in 1994 and decided, correctly, that removing it was unthinkable.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
