The Passaic Wonder Teams win 159 straight
1919
Passaic High School, Passaic, New Jersey
Ernest Blood coached basketball at Passaic High School from 1915 to 1924 and his teams went 200 and 1. The winning streak began in December 1919 and reached 159 games before Hackensack High School beat Passaic 39 to 35 on February 6, 1925, and it is still the longest run in American high school basketball. Blood taught the fast break and the full court press when most coaches were still walking the ball up. He went into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1960, in the same class as John Wooden.
