The Paris Road Bridge is still called the Green Bridge forty years after the paint changed
1967
New Orleans, Louisiana
The Army Corps of Engineers threw this span across the Mississippi River Gulf Outlet in 1967, giving St. Bernard Parish a high level road link to New Orleans East that no ship could interrupt. It went up painted green. It was repainted brown in 1980 and grey more recently, and everybody in the parish still calls it the Green Bridge.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
