The Palm and Cycad Arboretum, a palm collection planted on a campus lawn
1981
Jacksonville, Florida
Florida State College at Jacksonville keeps a planted collection of palms and cycads in the open on its south campus off Beach Boulevard, next to the library building and a pond. Cycads are among the oldest surviving seed plants, and the beds set rare ones alongside feather palms, fan palms and clumping palms. There is no admission and there are no opening hours, so the teaching collection doubles as a public garden.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
