The Nassau County Courthouse and its fire bell
1891

Red brick and Classical Revival, with cast iron Corinthian columns and a bell tower, put up on Centre Street in 1891. The bell came from Meneely and Company of West Troy in New York and spent years working as the town fire alarm rather than as a court bell. The building was restored in 2002, the same year the county started a judicial annex out in Yulee.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
