Henry Bacon designed this library on Broadway, finished in 1905, more than a decade before the Lincoln Memorial made his name. It is still the main branch of the Paterson Free Public Library, which the city started in 1885, and it holds the municipal art collection, mostly nineteenth century paintings given to the city. It went on the National Register in 1984.
