Russell Pancoast designed this keystone building in the early 1930s as the John Collins Memorial Library and Art Center, on parkland his grandfather had given the city. It was the first place in South Florida built to show art to the public. John and Johanna Bass handed their private collection to Miami Beach in 1963 and the museum opened the following year.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
