The Joseph Green House is listed on the National Register, then torn down

Joseph Green was a Black carpenter from Mississippi who settled in Orange Park around 1886 and built roughly fifteen houses in the town, including the two story home he raised for himself on McIntosh Avenue in 1893. It was the last of his buildings standing and the oldest surviving structure of Orange Park's Black community, and in 1998 it became the only minority owned property on the National Register in Clay County. It was demolished the next year.
